Chelsea Hotel
Just learned that the person who gave Cohen head in the famous song "Chelsea Hotel" was none other than, Janis Joplin. Ruined, forever! Not that I listened to the song every night trying to figure out who it might have been... cracking, ahem, the code as it were.. but still, it's quite the image, with the limo waiting downstairs etc.. Well, at the same time, there's nothing like context to give you perspective. But, to be honest, the song will never be the same again.

yeah I read that LC was really embarrassed after revealing that he was singing about Janis. He is a VERY honest guy, but..maybe TOO honest!
I went through an intense LC phase right before moving to Montreal. I lived there for one year. Oddly enough, I met people who knew him well when I volunteered for Meals on Wheels, delivering food to shut-ins/elderly folk. I lived very close to the neighborhood where he grew up.

Thanks for stopping by this lonely post. I think we do run the risk of telling or hearing too much sometimes. Who would have thought that you could be too honest? It's true sometimes though.
You lived in Montreal? I have been up there 3 times now. Summer of 2006 being the last. Played a gig in The Bar Fly too. Fun. Hope to get up there to do more shows in the not too distant future. Great town, why dya leave?
Must get chatting to you smetime about LC and the city. I went up to where he lived myself. Recorded some footage on dv for a video diary. Paul actually has that footage. Maybe if we both got on to him, he might do something with it! In fairness, he is working on the next "Mr.Junk" episode, so I'm only carryin' on Paul!
